Where are we going?

It's Easter Sunday and i'm half way through the school holidays. I am sitting in front of my computer just thinking of something to write about with the hope that inspiration will come along and smack me in the face. Of course, it's never that simple but I like to believe that it will.

It's a peculiar Easter because it is the first one since I moved to Melbourne and my kids have gone home to their mums for the school break. It is oddly silent in the house and I am finding that I don't actually know what to do with myself.

I get itchy feet staying at home all day - I don't like it. I like to get
out and explore. My idea of relaxation is to get in the car and drive. Drive to nowhere in particular, just to escape and see what the world around me is up to. I love to round everyone up in the car and say "come on, let's go", to which I am always asked, "where are we going?". It is random, sometimes I have a destination in mind but I love the spontaneity of just going where my intuition takes me; "nowhere in particular" I smile.

Random find near Sorrento
Just the other week, we ended up at Sorrento on the very southern end of Port Phillip Bay. I discovered a new part of the world that I love. The beach was spectacular, the scenery, the small town feels; I loved it all. It makes me relaxed.

That's one of the best things about moving somewhere you are completely unfamiliar with; the amount of exploring that is to be done. I love that there is a legion of hidden gems in Melbourne. Some you hear about from friends and colleagues and then there are those you chance upon. I feel like I have barely scratched the surface in terms of what is out there to see and do.

So, on that note I might just go for a drive. Don't ask me where because I don't know but it'll be good.

Have a great Easter break everyone.
